The Department is one of the vital departments not only supports educational courses within the College of Science, but also in the Health Colleges and the Applied College. It is dedicated to enhancing academic programs to align with advancements in the field of biology, in order to investigate the objectives of sustainable development and the Kingdom's Vision 2030 at the Northern Border University. 
 

Leveraging the expertise of its faculty members, the department contributes to scientific publications in highly indexed journals such as Web of Science (WOS) and Scopus databases. Furthermore, the department actively participates in community service activities focused on environmental protection and biodiversity conservation, aiming to ensure the sustainable management of natural resources in the Northern Border Region.
